Language Arts Jan 30-Feb 3

6th grade is going to switch books for the 3rd quarter and take the critical thinking of their first book and applying to reading and questions of this second book.  With the new questions they will encounter, from the switched book, should help in answering questions more thoughtfully and planned out.  With working on vocabulary every day, students are encouraged to use their words in their speech and in writing.  Please encourage your child to use the vocabulary they have been working on all of these weeks when speaking to you in your everyday conversations.

In class discussions and writings, students will often be ask to think back on their previous book they’ve read and to compare/contrast to the different yet similar experiences of the two protagonists.  We will be using this strategy a lot this quarter.
