Language Arts Oct 24-27

6th graders are completing their worksheets on finding facts and differentiating that with opinions through signal words/phrases and will be begin working on the research paper by gathering facts and other information.

During this time, they will also start creating/writing their hypothesis and working on their research outline.

Prehistoric Art

Students have been working on replicas of paintings in Altamira and Lascaux. They have tried both chalk and oil pastels as mediums.One their evaluation they must compare and describe characteristics of working with both mediums. Once students have finished they will study the element of line and shape by making a Shattered Panel Line Design.

SIXTH GRADE:

During this week, the students will be working in the basic concepts of soccer and they will develop the following fundamental skills: shooting, passing, receiving, and goalkeeping. Students will put this knowledge to test in games. During the week, the students will have a fitness test.

 

REMINDER:

I would like to remind you that all students need to be dressed appropriately for the days that they have P.E. class. Students should refrain from using the following:

–  Dresses for the girls

–  Jeans (shorts or pants)

–  Crocks

–  Sandals

–  Boots

 

PLEASE TAKE NOTE:

In order to participate in class activities and receive full credit for the class, students need to wear appropriate clothing for P.E. class.

We will use the word RESPECT to set the main goals for the year.
