Language Arts Nov 30 – Dec 4

This week, after our Thanksgiving break, the 6th graders will continue to read Where the Red Fern Grows.  They will also continue ‘how to write effective paragraphs’ from Chapter 19 of their textbooks and group off into writing circles to write out paragraphs based on the skills they have learned thus far.  This week is also the Science Fair and although 6th graders are not participating, we will use this time in our writing circles on how to research, write a main idea (topic sentence), supporting details, clincher sentence and chronological order, in our paragraphs. For homework, students must complete question worksheets for chapters 11-12 on Tuesday & Wednesday.  No testing this week.
